Missions & Outreach

The Church of the Nazarene has long been involved in missions work and community outreach and we endeavor to carry on that tradition.  We have an active Missions Council that regularly plans events and trips to make sure that we are implementing the Great Commission.

We also strive to host regular short-term mission trips as part of the denomination’s Work & Witness program.  In 2011, we sent a group to Cherokee, North Carolina to minister to the Cherokee community.  We are currently planning to send a team to Mexico to minister to the community in Acapulco.

During the summer months, we host a community garden.  Half of that garden is farmed by the congregation and the food is distributed to those in need.  The other half of the garden is used by members of the community who simply need a little land to grow food crops.

The church has also partnered with Habitat for Humanity for a number of builds.  This includes homes in Monroe and Dundee.
