About Us

We are a vibrant and growing congregation of the Church of the Nazarene, located at the “Hub of the Highways” in historic Dundee, Michigan. The congregation began in 1998 when a small band of believers began praying about how God might raise up a “New Start” church in Dundee.  This small group quickly grew as fellow believers from the Monroe, Tecumseh and Bedford congregations joined them. In the fall of 1999, the young congregation began meeting for Sunday worship at the Dundee Elementary School. Under the leadership of Rev. Sam Mullen, the group rapidly evolved into a thriving Christian community. Within just a few short years, the growing church began meeting for Sunday worship at the Dundee Middle School.  In 2008, we acquired our current facility at 224 Riley Street, which had formerly hosted the Dundee Presbyterian Church, and the Dundee Congregational Church before that.  Our current Pastor, Rev. Ken “Rodger” Papenhagen, has been serving as Senior Pastor since November 2015.

The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christ-like living) across the lands. Today the Church of the Nazarene is located in 156 world areas.
